MESSAGE FROM ACTING DEAN

McKen V. Carrington

As Acting Dean of the Thurgood Marshall School of Law, I am incredibly proud of the deep tradition of the school and the community impact it has had since its founding. We are thoroughly committed to excellence in teaching, advancing knowledge, and preparing our students to become leaders equipped to handle the dynamic legal challenges of today’s society.

Central to the success of our students are our faculty members, who are also pioneering scholars. They have shaped our understanding of the law through their impressive scholarship. Many have authored casebooks used in law schools across the country. We are thankful for their commitment to excellence and the success of our students.

We are grateful to our staff, students, and alums, who are a continued beacon of support. Our staff continues to work tirelessly to support the law school. We are thankful for the support and encouragement of our alums in relieving the burden of student debt through scholarships, in mentoring our students, and in sponsoring student programming and co-curricular activities.

Since I accepted the appointment as acting dean of Thurgood Marshall School of Law, I have remained dedicated to upholding the school’s mission and ensuring that this mission becomes a reality for our students, who are our source of inspiration and pride.

I invite all of you to get involved in strengthening the law school. Each of us is uniquely equipped to support the school in some respect. The future of TMSL is undoubtedly bright as we work together to Protect It, Improve It, and Pass It On!
